Home Automation
Pre-Wiring Checklist.

A printable coordination worksheet for Jaipur architects, interior designers, MEP teams, electrical contractors and automation integrators—before drawings freeze, conduits disappear or ceilings close.

Ask for a drawing review

Planning aid, not an electrical design certificate. Final cable sizing, protection, earthing, routing, life-safety interfaces and equipment selection must be approved by the responsible project professionals and applicable authorities. Manufacturer instructions take precedence.

The rule: decide outcomes, interfaces and responsibility before products. “Bedside all-off”, “arrival scene”, “gate-to-door video”, “internet-down operation” and “movie mode” become coordinated requirements only when they appear in drawings, schedules, interface matrices and test records.

Project record

Issue this sheet with a drawing revision.

Complete these fields before circulating the checklist. Use one status vocabulary throughout the project: required, not required, pending or approved.

Entries stay in this page only long enough to print or save the sheet. This form does not submit project data.

01

Before drawings freeze

New build or major renovation? A dedicated automation bus such as KNX twisted pair can be planned into the fabric of the building. A finished home may be better served by a carefully designed wireless or hybrid system. KNX officially supports twisted pair, RF and IP media; Matter uses IP networking over technologies including Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Thread.

Backbone, panels and network

03

Room and zone point schedule

Use drawing references, not informal room names alone. Add rows for every repeated bedroom, toilet, façade zone and external building. Write N/R where a discipline has confirmed that an interface is not required.

Drawing and schedule register

Assign an owner, revision and approval status to each deliverable. A checkbox without a matching drawing or schedule is not coordination.
