Service-specific guidance
Which AV page should I read?
Home theatre covers residential cinema. Commercial AV handles auditoriums and presentation rooms; multi-room and outdoor pages deal with distributed listening; acoustic treatment and PA pages address room response and speech delivery.
When does AV use the data network?
Network ownership must be explicit. Control, streaming and AV-over-IP can share structured infrastructure when capacity, multicast and timing are designed, with Audinate documenting relevant Dante transport and switch considerations for networked media.
What makes a handover supportable?
Names must stay consistent. The record includes signal flow, cable labels, rack layout, network settings, presets, licences, test results and user instructions, with source and destination names matching the labels a person sees in the room.
What affects AV cost and continuity?
Price follows the brief. Room count, audience size, acoustic work, source formats, display and loudspeaker choices, cable routes, control, network transport and commissioning determine cost, while portable equipment or a simpler television-and-speaker setup may be the more honest alternative for occasional use. The failure plan should identify the local shutdown and basic operating path that was actually tested for loss of a controller, source or AV network.
